Overview
Real: Zero is a mobile horror adventure spin-off of Tecmo's Fatal Frame series, released in Japan in August 2004 for NTT DoCoMo FOMA 900i phones. Unlike the console games, it incorporates the player's real-world surroundings into its supernatural gameplay. After receiving a mysterious email, players must use their phone's camera to photograph specific locations and objects, revealing ghosts through a specially developed image-recognition system. Players investigate supernatural encounters, confront spirits, and attempt to break a deadly curse by capturing and sealing ghosts. An additional Camera Obscura application allows users to create their own simulated spirit photographs.
